MUSICAL THEATRE SUMMER CAMP (1st-5th Grade)

Experience the magic of our Musical Theatre Summer Camp, tailor-made for children in 1st-5th grade! Engage in a thrilling 5-week adventure where young participants will audition for roles in various casts of the beloved Broadway musical, "Shrek The Musical Jr." Each child will receive an age-appropriate featured role along with a secondary ensemble role, thanks to our unique double-casting system. This ensures that every performer gets the chance to shine in two fantastic shows this summer!

AGES: 6-11 (1st-5th Grade) *1st grade for 24-25 school year

EXPERIENCE: We encourage all experience levels to participate.

REHEARSALS: (Summer) - M-F 10-4 pm

*Early drop off available starting at 9 am

SEASON DURATION: (6/17-7/20) - 5 Weeks

SHOWS: 7/18-7/21

WHAT HAPPENS IN REHEARSALS?

Children will immerse themselves in an engaging and imaginative setting, receiving instruction in singing, dancing, acting, and choreography for the production of "Shrek The Musical Jr." The culmination of their efforts will be showcased through a series of performances complete with hair, makeup, costumes, sets, props, and music.

 

WHO TEACHES THE KIDS?

Our program is run by our Artistic Director, Jessica Alexander, (MFA in Acting, New School University), lead directed by Alyssa Dvorak (BFA from NYU), and supported by a number of assistant directors who are skilled at various aspects of theatre and child development.

SAFETY AND MORE:

Class Act is a very safe environment for kids to grow creatively. While in rehearsals, the kids are monitored the entire time by our trained staff.  Safety is a main priority within the Class Act program. Class Act adheres to a detailed code of conduct that will be shared with all participants. It is important to us that all participants feel safe during rehearsals and performances.

TUITION:

Tuition includes weekly rehearsals, dress and tech rehearsals, light and sound rentals, and set building, with costumes and makeup. (Cost breakdown is based on $11 an hour for rehearsal and show hours.) Payment plans are available, as well as a sibling discount ($50 off for two children).
